Biocant - Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia, is looking for an extremely motivated Bioinformatics technician with Master Degree, for one work contract, in the project POCI-01-0145-FEDER-022184: “Genome PT – Laboratório Nacional de Sequenciação e análise de Genomas”. This project is financed by national funds through the FCT/MEC (PIDDAC) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through COMPETE – Operational Programme Competitiveness Factors (POFC).
SCIENTIFIC AREA: Life Sciences and Bioinformatics. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Master in Bioinformatics, Biology or related fields with experience in Linux, HPC management, and programming in languages such as Bourne-shell, Perl and Python. Knowledge of genomics, transcriptomics, metagenomics and statistics is an advantage. The candidate should have a critical spirit, be autonomous and able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
PLAN OF WORK: The candidate will participate in the development and implementation of bioinformatics pipelines for the processing and analysis of next-generation sequencing data. The candidate will be involved in bioinformatics pipelines for genome sequencing and annotation, variant analysis, metagenomics, and transcriptomics (RNA-Seq).

JOB LOCATION: The work will be developed at Biocant - Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia, Cantanhede, Portugal.
DURATION OF THE CONTRACT: The contract will have the duration of 8 months, predicted to start in March 2020.
SALARY: Gross salary of € 1.334,45. Payment of the research contract will be made by bank transfer.
SELECTION METHODS: The selection method will include a CV evaluation (60%), reference letter (10%) and motivation letter (10%). The candidates will be ranked and the top list candidates will be called for an interview (20%).

FORM OF NOTIFICATION OF RESULTS: The final results will be sent by email and the complete process to FCT.
